The battens are installed in a direction perpendicular to the ribs (transverse). This batten serves as a place for attaching and holding the roof covering or laying roofing sheets using screws (eg tiles or other materials).

Another function of the battens is as a spacer for each tile. With the battens, the installation of the tile will be neater and more "tied". The size of the distance between the battens depends on the size of the tile to be used. The larger the dimensions of the tile, the less the number of battens required.

The battens made of steel have high quality, light weight, but still the strength of the steel is not inferior to conventional steel. The batten made of mild steel will be coated with Aluminum Zinc so that it has more advantages such as rust resistance, fire resistance, termite resistance, light weight, practicality and strength.

Generally, the thickness of the batten is 0.40 with a height ranging from 28mm to 30mm, the higher the profile of the batten, the stronger it is. If you use concrete / ceramic tile, it is recommended to use battens with a minimum height of 30mm
